Beverage Stations – Built in vs. Freestanding

While remodeling your kitchen one appliance you should consider is a beverage station. Many busy families don’t have a lot of room in the fridge for beverages amongst the milk, orange juice and sweet tea. Most beverages such as beer, cans of soda and even wine are housed in the garage refrigerator. The garage refrigerator is convenient to store but not convenient while entertaining. Having a beverage station to house the drinks in a convenient location within the kitchen helps not only the host but the guests.

Once you have decided to purchase a beverage station you have two choices: built in and freestanding. Built in has a compressor usually housed in the front which makes installation in a cabinet best.

Freestanding beverage station should not be placed in a cabinet because the compressor is in the back and cannot circulate air, thus will overheat.
